ABOUT

Founded in 2018, the Marshall Gallery works to promote the work of contemporary photo-based artists with an emphasis on experimental processes, printmaking craftsmanship and conceptual innovation. Through a regular series of gallery exhibitions, unique programming, community events and art fair presentations, the gallery seeks to expand the conversation around photography's ever-evolving place in contemporary art and its role in shaping our collective memory.

After working in many roles across emerging, established, and blue chip galleries, owner Douglas Marshall opened the Gallery's first Venice Beach location on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in January 2021 before moving to Santa Monica's Bergamot Station in December 2021 where the gallery now resides. Marshall is known for curating ambitious and challenging lens-based exhibitions bringing new international and local artists to the market.

Marshall is a member of the Photographic Arts Council Los Angeles (PACLA), and the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) where Douglas Marshall also sits as a member of the board. 

APPOINTMENTS

While walk-ins are always welcome, appointments are kindly requested for discussing works for acquisition (Book Here). For collectors who are interested in visiting the gallery outside of normal business hours or who wish to see works outside of the current exhibitions, please contact the gallery through one of the contact methods listed above to request an appointment that is convenient for your schedule.
